TPR™ Frame Housing
The advantages of building homes with TPR™ frames are -
Speed of Erection
A TPR™ frame home is quicker to erect than a traditionally built home. The components are built in the factory (under strict quality controls), which greatly reduces the work to be done on site. This helps to keep sites tidier, easier to control and to reduce on site waste. Frames can be built quickly to order, therefore reducing the design to erection time scale. The TPR™ frame is very strong and is totally waterproof so the erection process is not dependant on weather conditions, which leaves it suitable for year round construction.
Sound Performance
TPR™ is a very “dense” material and the frames are panelled both externally and internally so as to provide optimum sound proofing. The TPR™ panel design has many advantages, one of which is that unlimited quantities of insulation can be placed in the panels, therefore greatly improving insulation and sound performance.
Environmental Issues
The insulated TPR™ frames are very energy efficient. The TPR™ frame is made from recycled material that is a considerably more environmentally friendly option than traditional build methodologies. On average, each TPR™ house requires 18 tonnes of selected waste material that would have otherwise gone to landfill.
Flexibility, Strength, Waterproof, Fire Retardant, and will not Rot
TPR™ frame buildings have excellent design flexibility. They can be built to almost any design (subject to planning controls) and due to the lightweight (but very strong) components, they are easier to transport. This makes them popular for difficult to reach locations. Designs can extend to multi storey construction, flats and hospitals etc. TPR™ is as strong as concrete, and it also has better tensile and flex characteristics than concrete. The whole of the frame is totally waterproof, it will not rot and it is fire retardant.
Excellent Thermal Efficiency
TPR™ frame buildings have excellent thermal efficiency as TPR™ is a very dense material. The recommended walling system has a “U” Value rating of 0.15. In addition you can place additional quantities of insulation inside the TPR™ frame panels which in turn reduce the “U” Value rating even further. The standards required for building regulations is easily exceeded. The high levels of insulation ensure that comfortable room temperatures are reached quickly after heating has been turned on, reducing the cost of heating.
Constructing houses with TPR™ gives RSL’s and Developers a significant advantage over the traditional “Timber, Brick, Block, and Concrete” houses:
Saves Time and Money
- Faster Construction Time
- Energy Savings because the houses are designed to achieve a high sustainability code rating.
Compared to traditional building
- The whole TPR element can be recycled at the end of life.
- Costs less than traditional structures
Stronger and Quieter
- Solid, waterproof, and dense TPR™ panels offer superior soundproofing
Cleaner and Healthier
- TPR™ is resistant to moisture, mould and mildew
- Does not leech any toxic materials and the product has been tested at zero
Leeching - All Affresol homes come with a Ventilation system.
Aesthetics
- The TPR™ frame houses can be clad in the same way that a timber frame is clad. Wall ties are embedded in the TPR frames so as to secure the external cladding to the main superstructure.
Safer and Healthier
- Fire retardant, durable, and will not succumb to woodworm, dry rot, or wet rot.
- Substantially stronger than conventional homes.
Simple to Assemble
- Affresol will provide a full on site erection service.
Sustainability
- Every piece of waste TPR™ produced in the construction of an Affresol home is 100% Recyclable.
- Each house can come with an option to have Solar Panel recesses in the roof surface.
- Each house requires 18 tonnes of waste material that would have gone to landfill.
